2024 Farm Tour
On July 13, about 30 people ventured to the South Whidbey farms of three Tilth members. The South Whidbey Tilth education committee, led by Anza Muenchow, organized the tour and the potluck dinner afterwards at the Tilth campus.
The farmers shared their experiences, techniques and innovations rehabilitating old farmland that had fallen out of production. Challenges included preparing and building soil that had originally been conifer forest–mostly well-draining glacial till full of rocks. One farm included a wetlands area. Everyone had to use creativity to share the land with wildlife.
For those who missed the tour, we hope join the 2025 tour.
