Are you interested in preserving your garden harvest? Whether you are a new or experienced home food preserver, you have come to the right place. Slow Food Whidbey Island will be providing the most up-to-date instructions and recipes so that you can be successful when preserving food at home.
Slow Food Whidbey Island is joining with Whidbey Island Grown during “Eat Local Month” in September. Arjai Allred will be leading a class on preserving the autumn harvest. Arjai will be demonstrating the following techniques: freezing, drying, dehydrating, storage in the refrigerator, pickling, pantry, infused vinegars and oils, and much more. Please note that she will not be demonstrating canning.
Cost for the event is $15.00 for members and $20.00 for non-members. Contact Kathy Floyd at kathy46@whidbey.com for more information or to sign up.
